Three Rivers Community Church was founded in 2000 by the Evangelical Free Church of America, with a vision to help San Marcos Texas, and our neighbors within the three-river area, to build upon their unique Christian Fellowship environment . Three River’s early members began meeting in a home of one of the original on-going families and within a few months in a business complex in the heart of town (2001-2003).

As needs arose, the congregation chose to hold worship and fellowship services at the Texas State University Student Center (2003-2009) and at the San Marcos River Retreat Chapel (2009-2013).  In 2013, God blessed us with a church building and we moved to the downtown former Martindale Baptist Church where we currently meet.

Since 2000, Three Rivers’ congregation has welcomed thousands of people, from all walks of life and denominations, into its family. Because of the nature of the city itself – its attraction to university students, “snow birds”,  retirees, commuters who work in Austin/San Antonio, local families; its close proximity to several other towns (within 20 miles) – Three Rivers continues to reflect  the ever changing nature and dynamics of Christian Fellowship in this area. Depending on their life/work circumstances, many of our visitors find a home in our fellowship for a few weeks, a few months, or years.

In the midst of this ever developing city , our Three Rivers members appreciate the constancy of our denomination, Evangelical Free Church of America.  The EFCA is continuing to be in the forefront of the ever-developing opportunities to share the Love of Christ around the country.
